AD HOC RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
TERMS OF REFERRENCE

The (Ad Hoc) Recreation Advisory Committee is a Committee of Council and shall provide support and recommendations to Council relative to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Black River-Matheson by working with internal staff to develop and present to Council the adoption of a Recreational Master Plan.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

The AD HOC Physician Recruitment Committee aims to build a strong physician workforce ensuring a balance of high standards in patient care, operational effectiveness, and physician satisfaction.

The committee shall manage the process of finding and hiring qualified doctors for our Township.

ACCESSIBILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
TERMS OF REFERRENCE

This Committee advises Council and the Township of Black River-Matheson by reviewing and reporting on all barriers within the Township in the interest of creating a barrier free community.

COMMITTEE OF ADJUSTMENT
TERMS OF REFERRENCE

This Committee is a quasi-judicial body with authority delegated to it by the Township of Black River-Matheson, under the provisions of the Ontario Planning Act, to make decisions regarding requests for variances from any of the Township’s zoning by-laws.

Community Living Ontario is led by a skilled and dedicated Board of Directors from across the province that work to ensure people who have an intellectual disability, and their families can advance inclusion in their lives and in the community.

The Economic Development Committee (EDC) will guide and promote economic growth, diversification, and long-term stability in the Township of Black River-Matheson. The committee will collaborate with businesses, investors, community groups, and government agencies to foster a thriving local economy.

JOINT COMPLIANCE AUDIT COMMITTEE

The Joint Compliance Audit Committee is an adjudicative body established to examine instances where election participants (including candidates, third party advertisers, and campaign contributors), appear to have contravened rules and limits established within the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as amended.

The Library Board establishes library services for our community.

PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
TERMS OF REFERRENCE

This Committee provides Council with recommendations specific to community planning matters, development and policies.  The Committee provides recommendations and guidance in areas related to land use planning.

PORCUPINE HEALTH UNIT

The Porcupine Health Unit’s Board of Health is made up of members from each of our communities. Most of them are elected members from municipal councils. These municipal governments, along with a variety of federal and provincial ministries, provide the funding for the health unit’s activities.

PROPERTY STANDARDS COMMITTEE
TERMS OF REFERRENCE

This Committee is a quasi-judicial body which considers appeals to Property Standards Orders issued by the Municipality under the authority of the Ontario Building Code Act and the municipal by-law respecting property standards.

SENIOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE
TERMS OF REFERRENCE

This Committee shall be responsible for providing input with respect to enhancing access and inclusion for seniors within the Township of Black River-Matheson.

SOUTH PORCUPINE OPP DETACHMENT BOARD

The O.P.P. Detachment Board shall,
(a) consult with the Commissioner regarding the selection of a detachment commander and otherwise participate in the selection of the detachment commander;
(b) determine objectives and priorities for the detachment
(c) advise the detachment commander with respect to policing provided by the detachment;
(d) monitor the performance of the detachment commander;
(e) review the reports from the detachment commander regarding policing provided by the detachment; and
(f) on or before June 30 in each year, provide an annual report to the municipalities regarding the 
policing provided by the detachment in their municipalities.
