Councillor - Ward 5
Louise Gadoury
Background:
I am a retired manager from Monteith Correctional Complex after 29 years of service. Prior to this I worked at Texasgulf for 11 years in the Roaster Plant. I have completed a BA in Psychology and Law in Justice from Laurentian University. I have been active in my work and community with activities such as the VGCHA, VCARS, the Adult Learning Centre. I was a Train the Trainor for Offender Core Programs, Suicide Awareness trainor and Peer member for Critical Incident Stress Management. I am a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 5 children. I am still active playing darts and curling.
Platform:
I am looking forward to working with the new council building up our township and communities. I want to see our township prosper and grow so that our children are proud to live here. I also want to see progress in fixing up our roads, being prepared for emergencies and improvements to our water, bridges etc. We need to do those things within our budget of course. I also want to be very transparent about where our tax dollars are spent. People have a right to know where their money is going. I deeply hope that our community can heal and that we can work together to make Black River Matheson good again!
